Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction Maker Review

The Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction Maker is a great addition to just about any kitchen. In our kitchen we were able to replace not only our old blender, but also we were also able to get rid of the kid’s snow cone machine. This machine’s motor puts out 550 watts of power, which is more than enough to make the best frozen drinks or even shaved ice for a kid’s snow cone.

 

Pros:

• Ice Hopper – One of the best things about this machine is the ice hopper that is located on the top. The ice hopper is used to store a lot of ice so there is never any worry about not having enough ice to make the drink. Even better is that the ice hopper allows the machine to add just the right amount of ice for each drink.
• Pre-Programmed Drink Cycles – This blender comes with 4 preprogrammed drink cycles, margaritas, daiquiris, mudslides, and smoothies. Having these preprogrammed choices means all I have to do is push a button and the machine will do the rest. Using the preprogrammed cycles the right amount of ice is added so the drinks don’t come out too watery, plus they are perfectly blended, no more chunks of ice.
• Different Batch Settings – Another great feature with this machine is that I can make different sized batches at the touch of a button. If I am entertaining I can make a full pitcher of a drink or I can make a smaller batch if it is just my husband and I. The smaller batches can be broken down into one, two, or three drink settings.
• Shave-N-Blend Switch – This switch is nice because it allows the right amount of ice to be shaved and added to a drink based on what is being made. Using the shaved ice the drinks have a better consistency, no more chunks of ice or watered down drinks. There is also a toggle switch that can be used to override this switch, so more shaved ice can be added or more blending time can be added.

Cons:

• Very Large Machine – The only issue I have had with this machine is how big it is, makes it hard to fit inside any cupboard, and takes up a lot of counter room. The machine measures 14 x 9 x 20 inches. I have not been able to fit it inside any of my cupboards, but it does fit inside the pantry nicely.

The Margaritaville DM2000 has a die-cast aluminum base that gives it a very stable footprint. The shaver paddle is also die-cast aluminum. The unit itself is made from ABS plastic that is considered very durable. The front access controls make the blender easy to use and the brushed-nickel finish make it a pleasure to look, so leaving it out on the counter isn’t that bad of an option. The blender comes with one shot glass, a recipe guide, four coasters, and some drink charms.
